Infographic -Ideal care

This infographic presents the results of our "ideal care activity" from our Participatory Healthcare Research Summit held in June 2025.
Patient/parent-partners, representatives of community organizations, healthcare professionals and researchers shared their vision of ideal pediatric gender identity-related care.
Participants were invited to complete these three sentences:
Ideal gender identity-related care would involve/include...
Gender identity-related care will be a success when...
In the future, gender identity-related care should be...
Inspired by the work of Duggan and Muñoz (2009) and Muñoz (2009), our ‘utopia’ activity enabled us to look toward the future and articulate a vision for pediatric gender identity-related care beyond its current limits. Through this approach, we sought to draw on queer political imagination as a mobilizing force.
